Free psychosocial risk assessment and management support for Victorian small and medium businesses
About the program
The Mentally Healthy Workplaces Program is a free initiative to help small and medium-sized Victorian businesses to identify and manage psychosocial risks. This will reduce the risk of mental injuries and build mentally healthy and high-performing workplaces.
Delivered by AP Psychology & Consulting Services in partnership with the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the program provides expert guidance and digital tools tailored to the needs of each business.
Over the next 12 months, the program will work directly with 300 eligible businesses.

Who can participate?
- Have fewer than 200 employees
- Be based in Victoria
- Hold a current WorkCover policy within Victoria
- Employ workers located in Victoria
- Have a low level of maturity in workplace psychosocial safety

What is a Psychosocial Risk Assessment?
A psychosocial risk assessment is a structured process used to identify, evaluate, and manage workplace factors that may negatively impact employees’ psychological health and wellbeing. These factors, known as psychosocial hazards, can include excessive workload, poor leadership, bullying, unclear job roles, and lack of recognition or support.
How long does the program take?
Initial onboarding takes just a few minutes. The complete program is run over the course of approximately 4 months.
Is there any cost to participate?
No. The program is fully funded by WorkSafe Victoria for eligible businesses.
What support is available for regional or remote businesses?
The program is fully accessible online, with additional consultation for businesses identified as high-risk.
